Iyengar Yoga for 50 and Over
My online classes are geared toward active middle-aged and older adults, but younger people are also welcome! Currently I'm offering one online class a week.
Iyengar Yoga classes provide a safe and systematic approach to learning and practicing yoga postures. We often use props (such as blankets, blocks, straps, chairs, or the wall) in my classes to help promote ease, stability, and healthy alignment in poses that would otherwise be difficult.

Prepare for Your Online Class
Gather your props and set up your space for the class
- Assemble your props. I suggest a yoga mat or non-skid surface, 2 – 3 blankets (yoga blankets or regular blankets or large towels), and a strap (or sash or necktie). Also recommended – yoga blocks, folding chair or dining room chair. Wall space is also useful, but not essential. Don’t worry if you don’t have “official” yoga props! Make do with what you have around the house. Check out this video for household prop suggestions.
- Set up your computer or device 6′ – 8′ from your mat. Position it so I can see you whether you’re sitting or standing (you may need to occasionally adjust your device)
- The camera for your device needs to work if you want me to see you.
- Make sure your sound is on.
- Have your mat or practice area horizontal to the camera
- If possible don’t be backlit by a window.
